GOBBLES UP WOOD — EXCELLENT SERVICE”
IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT BUYING THIS SPLITTER, DO IT. THIS SPLITTER IS BUILD VERY WELL. IT IS TRULY HEAVY DUTY. I HAVE BEEN SPLITTING SEASONED MONTANA DOUGLAS FUR AND LARCH. MOST PIECES ARE 18″X12″, BUT I HAVE SPLIT PIECES UP TO 18″X15″ WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM AT ALL. THE ONE HAND DESIGN IS GREAT. IF YOU ARE SPLITTING BIGGER WOOD I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE STAND. FOR ME THE HEIGHT IS PERFECT, YOU DON’T HAVE TO LIFT THE PIECES TO HIGH AND WHEN THEY SPLIT THEY DON’T HAVE FAR TO FALL. THIS MACHINE WAS REALLY THOUGHT OUT. AAA+++ ALL THE WAY. THE ONLY NEGATIVE I HAD WAS SHIPPING. THE FIRST ONE I ORDERED CAME LOOKING LIKE IT FELL OFF A FORKLIFT. I REFUSED DELIVERY. I CALLED AMAZON AND THEY ORDERED ME ANOTHER ONE AND HAD IT SHIPPED ONE DAY SHIPPING AT NO CHARGE. THE SECOND ONE CAME WITH NO PROBLEM.YOU CAN’T BEAT THAT SERVICE………….
also dont have $1500 to spend on a splitter so I took a chance with this machine and am glad I did“
I used to borrow a neighbors gas powered splitter until it died this year. I usually burn between 4 and 5 cords of wood every winter and did not want to wait for them to fix their machine. i also dont have $1500 to spend on a splitter so I took a chance with this machine and am glad I did. Works fine off a 20amp outlet. Struggles a little with green wood or knotty rounds. I have split about a cord of year-old wood with rounds ranging from 6 inches to almost 20 inches across. When you split the bigger pieces you need to move the log around a little and get creative to split it off the sides. I really like the one handed operation lever. Its good to hold the log in place with one hand and push the lever with the other. I could not imagine trying to use a machine with two safety levers/buttons. This thing is smaller than I thought it would be but its good, easy to move around. Also a lot quieter than I thought it would be. i would give it 5 stars if it could power through large green logs. This machine is good for me and my wood stove.
